Maria Porter - Senior Recruiter
 When passion for helping others meets expert real estate knowledge you get Maria Porter. With over eight years of recruiting experience and three years as a realtor and mentor in the industry, Maria has a lot to bring to the table. Her belief is that her experience guided by her personal values allows her to operate from a position of knowledge and integrity - an invaluable trait for helping her candidates and clients follow the path from ordinary to extraordinary.
Maria's primary responsibilities include executive searches for Loan Officers, Sales Managers, Realtors/Loan Officers, Title Officers and Commercial Realtors. Her experience working in both the recruitment and staffing industries has allowed her to maintain a large network of contacts, which inevitably adds to the success of both her and her clients. Her individualized approach to screening candidates requires more than sifting through resumes or searching online. She believes in getting to know the candidates on a more personal level and determining their "Why" and "What" - that is, why are they making the change and what is their motivation? It's the type of relationship building that Spencer, Stevens and Associates truly values.
After earning a Bachelors of Science degree from California State University, Hayward with a focus on Accounting, Maria worked in management for over 9 years at several large financial institutions. In search of different employment, she went into an executive search firm and it was there she decided to make a complete career change. After the interview process, she was encouraged to use her expertise in the financial field to recruit Senior Level Executives and thus the Executive Recruiter was born. In addition, she soon became a licensed California Realtor working with a national firm focusing on residential and investment properties.
Maria and her husband John have 3 teenagers - two of which are in college - and they remain active in the Deacon and Hospitality Ministries at their church. Her passion for helping others has also inspired her to establish her own organization - Biblically Minded Women for Health and Wealth. Maria also enjoys traveling and going to the spa with her friends.
