BENEFITS: WHAT ARE OTHER EMPLOYERS OFFERING?

Do you travel frequently and have to leave Fido at home to be taken care of by a well-meaning friend or relative?

Well, according to an article in Workforce Magazine “some companies that cater to business travelers are expanding their policies to be more pet-friendly.” This includes hotels and airlines.

If you’re thinking that this might be a great idea, you can check out http://www.petfriendlytravel.com/ to find out about the best places for you and Fido to visit.

In the meantime, here are a few of the more interesting benefits that companies offer their employees.

At Quicken Loans whose CEO just happens to own the Cleveland Cavaliers, workers in Michigan can hop on company-sponsored buses to see the team play ball. And tech giant Microsoft piles on perks like free grocery delivery, valet parking, and a dollar-for-dollar match of employee charitable contributions up to $12,000.

Employees at New Belgium Brewing in Fort Collins, CO can receive a case of beer a week and after five years with the organization, employees have an opportunity to go to Belgium to sample the brews that inspired the company’s creation.

Denver-based Chipotle Mexican Grill contributes up to $30 a month toward veterinary insurance for pet-owning employees.

And my new employee benefit of choice… four hospitals in the OhioHealth network where concierges handle personal chores for all 15,200 employees, from doctors to housekeeping staff. Retained from third-party provider “2 Places At 1 Time”, bonded concierges will buy a list of groceries then take them to your house and put them away. Or go to homes to let repair people in or dogs out. One concierge even stood on line and scored fifth-row seats to a Kenny Chesney concert.

Now that’s a real perk!
